Maserati was founded in Bologna, Italy, on December 1 in 1914. With support from his brothers, one of which is credited with designing the famed Maserati trident logo, Alfieri Maserati created the automotive brand. The first model introduced to the market, a racecar named Tipo 26, debuted with a victory in the 1926 Targa Florio, the first of an endless string of wins.
The fascination of the Maserati-brothers and their interest for mechanics and speed led to other triumphs, including two editions of the Indianapolis 500, 9 wins in Formula One and the F1 World Championship in 1957.
Maserati has not only a leading position in the fields of racecars and formula 1, but is also standing for technical and industrial innovation. The vehicles thrill not only with luxury and diversity, but also with security and comfort.
The originally small company evolved in the last 100 years to an internationally reputable automotive brand, which is among the fastest growing brands in the United States and is currently represented in nearly 70 markets in the world.
